New York based portrait photographer and multimedia artist, Matthew Cylinder.

Matthew Cylinder was born in Philadelphia and raised in Arizona. After graduating with a BFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), he went on to hone his lighting craft, assisting numerous fashion & commercial photographers in NYC and internationally for over a decade while working on his personal projects.  He combines his fine art background with his instinctive use of natural and artificial light to create beautiful, psychological images in his work inspired by the environment. Combining his photo chemical and alternative printing techniques, his studio practice pushes the boundaries and traditions of analog and digital photography.
